I was at a local Show'n'Shine today. My husband's bike won second place in the "Offshore Cruiser" category! He was so pumped! I'm glad he won.
I didn't enter my bike because in spite of having just about all the extras you can put on the Savage (all six of them) I don't consider my bike a "show bike". So I was surprised to see a Savage entered in the Offshore Cruisers category! If its owner is part of this forum, this was the Show'n'Shine in Gore Park, downtown Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Speak up if you're here!
Now, I have a question. This Savage had the older Suzuki tank decal, the small one that's sort of diamond-shaped. The side cover said "650 Savage" in a rainbow print. But the paint was solid PURPLE. Has purple ever been a stock colour? I assumed it was because of the factory decals, but I've never heard of a purple Savage before. It was a really pretty colour, a nice deep shade, and it had a nice big crash bar on it, not the useless little thing Suzuki calls an engine guard for the Savage.
Anyhow, if anyone knows the answer to this I'd love to here it, and if the proud owner of that Savage is around I'd love to hear what brand of crash bar you've used.
